Ooredoo launches international gaming platform in Maldives

Ooredoo Maldives has launched aninternational gaming platform, “Ooredoo Nation – The Gamers’ Land” in Maldives, aimed at enabling gaming community in the country and connecting them to the opportunities of the rapidly budding gaming industry.

The gaming platform was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom in a special ceremony held at Dharubaaruge on Tuesday night.

The ceremony was attended by the management of Ooredoo Maldives and key members of the Maldivian gaming community.

Leveraging on its 5G network and local and international partnerships, Ooredoo Nation aims to bring everything and anything related to gaming all in one platform.

Ooredoo Nation – The Gamers’ Land enables access to a vast array of gaming gift cards for worldwide platforms including iTunes, Nintendo, PlayStation and more. Moreover, gamers can directly activate mobile data packs for widely played games such as PUBG, Garena Free Fire, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, Roblox and more via www.ooredoonation.mv.

In addition to the gaming packs, gift cards and content services, Ooredoo Nation will be hosting local and international tournaments for the gamers.

The first local tournament of Ooredoo Nation, “PUBG Mobile” was announced during Tuesday’s launch event with an exciting prize pool of MVR 100,000. A series of PUBG tournaments will be held where participants will be leveling up, increasing their prize pool as they move up the leaderboard. The details of the ongoing tournaments, leaderboards and live streams will be available on Ooredoo Nation official website.

Ooredoo Maldives’s Managing Director and CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi said the rapidly transforming gaming industry had opened up various opportunities worldwide.
