Parliament dismiss motion calling to lower prices of goods

The Parliament on Monday dismissed the motion submitted calling to lower prices of goods.

The motion was filed by the Parliament representative of the Maduvvari constituency Adam Shareef, who is from the opposition coalition.

From the vote taken to make a decision regarding the motion, out of the 38 members who participated, 29 members voted against it.

While submitting the motion, MP Adam Shareef said that the prices of everyday goods used by citizens have gone up.

He particularly highlighted the increased prices of tuna cans from MIFCO and spoke of its implications.

Moreover, he noted that increased plane ticker fares and construction materials as well.

The MP called on state-owned companies to control prices and to do the necessary work in order to maintain the prices.
