Dhiraagu marks World Telecom Day with panel discussion for students

Local telecom company, Dhiraagu, has hosted a special panel discussion for university and college students to mark the World Telecommunication & Information Society Day 2022 (WTISD).

The panel discussion was held at Dhiraagu Head Office on Tuesday.

It was led by the company’s CEO, Managing Director Ismail Rasheed alongside some members of Dhiraagu’s leadership; Chief Technology and Information Officer Mohamed Musad, Chief Financial Officer Robin Wall and Director of Corporate Affair Athifa Ali.

The session of moderated by Dhiraagu’s Senior brand Manager and Marketing Communications Mirshan Hassan.

The telecom company detailed the objective of the session as to engage with young people and share information on Dhiraagu’s role in empowering digital communities across and enriching lives of the people living in the Maldives.

Dhiraagu said that they strongly believe the students are future leaders of this nation who will be leveraging the digital technology in shaping the future. Therewith, CEO, Managing Director Ismail took the students through the journey of Maldives’ telecommunication and the future vision for the company during the session.

With reference to this year’s WTISD’s theme ‘Digital Technologies for Older Persons and Healthy Ageing’ – Ismail ensured the participating students that the company’s services are developed to cater to all age groups to enjoy and allow digital technology to enrich their lives.
