President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed are confirmed to travel to K. Maafushi for this year’s Eid-al-Fitr.
Maafushi Council President Hassan Salaah told Sun that the first couple was invited to participate in the Eid festivities scheduled at the island – which they had accepted.
Maafushi will be one of the islands at which Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated the most colorfully this year.
In this regard, Eid day is set to kick start with Eid prayer performed in mass congregation which will be followed by a breakfast banquet.
Whilst a children’s fair is planned for the evening – a music show targeting diverse age groups is scheduled to be held at night.
Maafushi Council reported that a firework display will take place after the music show.
The Council also noted that they were collaborating with all organizations based on the island to ensure fun-filled Eid.
