Dhiraagu has announced the renewal of its support for the Blind and Visually Impaired Society of Maldives – a non-governmental organization that advocates for the rights and wellbeing of the blind and visually impaired.

The BVISM recently joined Clubhouse, and has a number of activities lined up for the coming month, including religious activities and training programs.

Dhiraagu said that in support of BVISM’s activities, it will be providing mobile data to its members free of charge.

The telecom giant has also renewed its customized ‘Phone Meeting 130’ – a digital solution that empowers over 150 members of BVISM to conduct classes, socialize and connect across the country.

Dhiraagu noted that the BVISM faces challenges that other social organizations do not.

Holding a simple meeting itself poses a challenge for the NGO, said Dhiraagu.

Dhiraagu said that the ‘Phone Meeting 130’, which the company has continued to offer to BVISM since 2016, eases the logistical difficulties in holding in-person meetings, and allows the NGO to conduct various training and education programs.

BVISM has conducted classes in Mathematics, Latin, Arabic and Quran through the service over the years.

Dhiraagu said it aims to empower people who support and advocate for the rights of the blind with its support for BVISM.
