Asia’s Diplomat of the Year award to Dr Farah Faizal

The High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Nonresident Ambassador of Maldives to France, Ireland and Spain, Dr Farah Faizal has been awarded the 2022 ‘Diplomat of the Year’ for Asia and Oceania Award.

In a tweet, Dr Farah said that she was deeply honoured to win the award, and expressed her gratitude to the Diplomatic Corps and the Diplomat magazine.

“A proud moment for my country,” she added.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih congratulated her via Twitter and noted that she was an exceptional and exemplary diplomat and that the whole of Maldives was proud of her achievement.

Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid also congratulated her and said that her work in “promoting and safeguarding the interests of Maldives is always exceptional.”

“Proud of your achievements,” he said.
