MNU awards scholarships to 14 students

Maldives National University (MNU) awarded scholarships to the 14 students selected.

The scholarships were awarded to the students during a special ceremony, by MNU’s Vice-Chancellor Mohamed Shareef.

As per MNU, the scholarship scheme has three categories:

-        10 Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarships that cover tuition fee

-         2 fully-funded Undergraduate scholarships

-         2 fully-funded Postgraduate scholarships

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Aishath Shaaheen Ismail noted that many students were currently studying with the help of MNU’s scholarship scheme.

She revealed that when applications were opened for the first semester of this year, a total of 72 students applied for the undergraduate scholarship, while 38 students applied for the postgraduate one.  

Additionally, noting that only a few were awarded compared to the number of applicants, she urged those who got selected to make the best of this opportunity.

The university’s scholarship was introduced to provide assistance to students who are seeking higher education.
