The members of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee are scheduled to fly to London, the United Kingdom on an experience visit.

As per the Parliament, the visit was under Finance Ministry’s Public Finance Management System Strengthening Project. It was part of a subcategory of the project Finance Management and Public Sector Accountability, titled “Knowledge and Experience Sharing”.

The project is an initiative of the Auditor General’s Office with free aid from the World Bank.

The main purpose of the programme was to study the methods used by UK Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee used in reviewing the Auditor-Generals documents.

This knowledge would be beneficial in further strengthening the committee's work of studying the reports compiled by the Auditor General's Office, said the Parliament.

The visit will take place from April 24 to 28.

In addition to all 14 members, two employees from the committee’s secretariat are to take part as well.
