The Parliament has sent a case to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), on corruption involved in the MVR2.1-million Chamber Automation Project undertaken by the Parliament in 2010 in a move to encourage a paperless environment at the Parliament chamber.
The Audit Report of the Parliament for 2010 recommended that a case in relation to this project be filed to ACC for further investigation.
The Parliament Secretariat said that the case was submitted to ACC by the Parliament Speaker today, requesting ACC to further investigate the issues highlighted by the Auditor General pertaining to various phases of the project.
The Parliament Speaker also sent a letter to the Auditor General today expressing his gratitude, in which he informed the Auditor General that the senior employees of the Parliament have been advised to comply with the recommendations in the Audit Report.
