Telecommunications company, Dhiraagu, has signed as the exclusive digital partner for Maldives Bodyboarding Association (MBBA).
The partnership agreement was signed by Dhiraagu’s Senior Manager Brand & Marketing Communication Mohamed Mirshan Hassan and MBBA’s President Abdulla Areef.
“We are delighted to support MBBA in developing the bodyboarding sports in the Maldives. While the association is highly accelerating their development plans this year, we are committed to ensure our support as their digital partner,” Mirshan had said.
“It is a pleasure to have Dhiraagu as our digital partner supporting to empower youth development plans and the tournaments we have scheduled for the year. We are very excited and looking forward to taking the sport to the next level,” Areef had said.
MBBA has recently announced that they will be hosting a National Bodyboarding League for the first time in the Maldives this year. For the first time in the history of bodyboarding in the Maldives, the league includes a women’s division. The association is scheduled to kick off its first tournament of the league from March 20 to March 30 in Raalhugandu area.
It will also be the first time MBBA will be using a digital scoring system in the bodyboarding competition in the Maldives.
Dhiraagu said that they will be assisting MBBA, as its digital partner, in the events scheduled for the year.
Noting one of its key CSR focus is to empower young people, Dhiraagu said that they will be supporting the bodyboarding community in the Maldives to develop next generation athletes and revive the excitement for the sport across all communities of the nation.
The telecom giant also reiterated its commitment to support and advocate projects to strengthen communities through sports and recreation. In line with this, they have also recently signed as the digital partner for Maldives Basketball Association.
