Islamic Ministry, Economic Ministry partner to launch ‘Zakat Nafaa’

Islamic Ministry and Economic Ministry have partnered to conduct ‘Zakat Nafaa’ - a program to provide financial support. 

The program is for people on the register of the poor compiled by the Islamic Ministry. The program will provide financial support to a specific number of people through the Zakat Fund, with the aim of facilitating ways to earn incomes and build a self-sufficient society. 

Under the program, people registered as poor will receive financial support enable them to earn an income by starting their own businesses, encouraging them to live a life of respect and promote the contribution of individual citizens towards the development of the local economy. 

The five-year program will support areas of national development and self-sufficiency, and will facilitate opportunities for housing, poultry farming, hydroponics, reef fishing, tailoring, training, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship.
