The Criminal Court ordered a fine of MVR 60,000, and took to state three gold bullets, attempted to illegally import into Maldives by ingesting.
The state pressed charges against Indian national Sayed Mubarak Sayed Wajuhudheen for attempting to illegally bring in goods in Maldives.
He was flagged for suspicious behaviour after arriving in Maldives on the morning of December 30, 2021. Subsequently, a search was conducted on him and his belongings, and upon suspicion that something may be concealed in his body, he was arrested.
