‘Damas’ host blood donation campaign for anniversary

Damas – one of the biggest businesses in Maldives, has commenced a special blood donation camp for its anniversary.

The camp began and 09:00 am on Saturday, February 26, and will go on until 15:00 pm at the Thalassemia Centre in Male’ City.

Many current and former employees of the company have been taking part in the camp and donating blood.

Additionally, the camp is open to the general public as well.

According to Damas, they have been receiving great support for the camp, and at the time of speaking to Sun, there were 35 people waitlisted to donate blood.

The blood donation camp has been an annual event that is part of the company’s anniversary celebrations since 2013.

Damas, created in 2001, this year marks 21 years, with a string of successes behind it.

The camp comes at a time when blood donation has decreased due to COVID-19, and authorities have been urging the public to donate.
