Ooredoo partners with FAM for Dhivehi Premier League 2022

Ooredoo Maldives and Football Association of Maldives (FAM) have announced their partnership for the new season of Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League. 

Ooredoo Maldives’ Managing Director and CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi and FAM’s President Bassam Adeel Jaleel signed the exclusive partnership agreement in a ceremony held at the Ooredoo headquarters on Wednesday. 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Al-Hamadi said that Ooredoo believed in the important role football plays in bringing people together, and shared a common passion for football with the Maldivian community. 

“We share a common passion for football with the Maldivian community, and believe that it plays an important role in bringing people together. We look forward to working with FAM to further enable development opportunities for local footballers and take football in the Maldives to the next level," he said. 

Ooredoo said that it has greatly contributed to enable footballers across the nation to build their skills as professional players as well as youth engagement programs throughout its journey in Maldives. 

Ooredoo was the title sponsor of the 13th edition of SAFF Championship – the biggest football tournament in South East Asia. As title sponsor, Ooredoo carried out several engagement activities and enabled communities across the nation to take part in the tournament in 2021.  

The company said it was committed to the people of Maldives, and would continue to work with international and local partners to support human growth across its communities.
