Schools in Male’ area has begun holding physical classes for students in all weekdays.
In light the surge in COVID-19 cases when schools reopened for second term of the academic year 2021-2022 last month, physical classes were only held twice a week for students from grades one to eight in Male’ area schools.
A statement released by Education Ministry back then had instructed schools to pay attention to the matter when formulating timetables.
Education Ministry’s Media Official confirmed to Sun that all schools in Male’ area has begun holding physical classes on all weekdays starting from the beginning of this week.
The Media Official added that sessions would be arranged by respective schools in a manner they see best fit, and in adherence to the recommended guidelines.
Prior to this, schools had been instructed by the Ministry to maintain social distancing in all activities carried out at the school. In addition to this, a ban was imposed on holding any activity which will require not wearing masks.
As previously done, schools had also been instructed to make arrangements to conduct temperature checks on students, arrangements for them to sanitize or wash hands with soap and cut down school hours.
Apart from this, Education Ministry had also instructed that three-feet distance should be maintained in classrooms amongst students – whilst also adhering to all other guidelines recommended by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
When schools reopened for second term of the academic year 2021-2022 last month, physical classes were conducted for students from all schools other than the ones in Male’ area.
