Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, confirmed additional 337 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases in Maldives to 97,668.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 101 cases from the greater Male’ region, 129 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 99 cases from operational resorts and two cases from liveaboards.
Meanwhile, 226 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 94,091.
With these new developments, Maldives now has 3,300 active cases.
There are 15 patients in hospitals
5,361 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,742 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 6 percent.

With the number of COVID-19 cases on the rise across all parts of Maldives, HPA has mandated wearing masks in public at all residential islands.
