Patient admitted at Thinadhoo Covid Facility passes away, death toll rises to 261

A COVID-19 patient from who was being treated after admittance at GDh. Thinathoo Covid Management Facility has passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed the identity of the latest COVID-19 fatality as a 66-year-old Maldivian man. He passed away at around at 10:50pm last night.

His death increases the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the Maldives to 261.

The last COVID-19 fatality recorded in the Maldives was the death of long-serving statesman Umar Zahir. He passed away on Monday, whilst being treated at the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital.

Within the last 24-hours, HPA announced 121 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 94,299.      

Meanwhile, 118 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 92,099.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,927 active cases.      

There are 15 patients in hospitals.
