13 military vehicles to be donated to Maldives during Bangladesh PM’s visit

Bangladesh is set to donate 13 military vehicles to the Maldives during the upcoming state visit which Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is undertaking at the invitation of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Sheikh Hasina will be arriving on the two-day trip tomorrow.

Media outlets from Bangladesh reports that the Prime Minister will be received at the Velana International Airport by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel.

The report further highlight that 13 military vehicles will be donated to the Maldives by Bangladesh during this trip – as a token of the friendship between both countries.

In addition to this, four agreements are set to be signed between both countries during this visit. They include Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income, Agreement on the Transfer of Prisoners, Memorandum of Understanding in in the areas of Health Care and Medical Sciences between Bangladesh and Maldives and Memorandum of Understanding between Bangladesh and Maldives on Cooperation in the Area of youth and Sports Development.

The existing Memorandum of Understanding on Recruitment of Qualified Health Professionals between Bangladesh and the Maldives will be renewed.

As per the reports, these agreements will be signed during the bilateral meeting that would be held between the Prime Minister and the Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Upon the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister and the President will hold a press conference to brief the media.

Sheikh Hasina will also call on Vice President Faisal Naseem, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed and Chief Justice Uz. Ahmed Muthasim Adnan during the trip.

Moreover. on Thursday, she is scheduled to deliver an address at the Maldivian Parliament.

Sheikh Hasina will also be meeting Bangladeshis residing in the Maldives virtually.

She will conclude her visit and depart to Bangladesh on next Monday.
