Maldives records year-high 144,725 tourist arrivals in November

Maldives recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals this year in November, with over 144,700 visitors. 

Statistics released by Tourism Ministry shows Maldives recorded 144,725 tourist arrivals in November.  

An average of 4,824 tourists visited Maldives each day in November, with the highest arrivals in a single day recorded on November 21 with 5,987 arrivals. 

The top source markets in November were:  

India: 29,708 tourist arrivals 

Russia: 15,937 tourist arrivals  

United Kingdom: 15,117 tourist arrivals  

Germany: 13,705 tourist arrivals  

Unites States: 7,592 tourist arrivals 

Records released by Tourism Ministry show Maldives welcomed 1,162,425 tourists by December 1. 

The top source markets this year are: 

India: 261,164 tourist arrivals 

Russia: 205,246 tourist arrivals  

Germany: 83,817 tourist arrivals 

Unites States: 48,949 tourist arrivals 

United Kingdom: 46,177 tourist arrivals 

Maldives celebrated its one millionth tourist of the year back in October, and tourist bed nights this year passed 10 million earlier this December, placing the country well on track to breaking the record of 10.7 million bed nights recorded back in 2019. 

95 percent of resort employees in Maldives have been fully vaccinated.
