BML recognizes outstanding employees at Staff Awards

In recognition of their outstanding employees – Bank of Maldives (BML) has honored them with a series of accolades.

The Bank’s annual staff awards ceremony was held last night.

Head of Banking Solutions Afrah Ahmed and the Moratorium Project Team won the most prestigious award in the ceremony – CEO’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2020. Head of Loan Services Hawwa Sheeniyaz Adnan received the Employee of the Year Award for 2019.

In addition to this – 17 teams across the Bank were given recognitions awards to celebrate their outstanding performance and continuation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Bank’s CEO, Managing Director Tim Sawyer Staff Awards are held to honor excellence in performance and the passion and perseverance shown in work by employees.

“Our employees went above and beyond to show exemplary performance during the pandemic to ensure banking services continued uninterrupted during the pandemic, at one of the most challenging times faced by the Bank and the entire country,” he added.

As the largest bank in the country – as well as one of the largest employers, BML takes great pride over the fact that 99 percent of its staff base are Maldivians.

BML also said that they are proud of implementing forward-looking human resources policies to ensure the highest professional standards of employee recruitment, development and reward.

On October 21, BML also honored 61 long-serving employees – who have worked with the Bank for more than 15 years.
