Bank of Maldives (BML) has honored 61 long-serving employees – who have worked with the Bank for more than 15 years.
Employees were presented the awards during a special event held at Manhattan Business Hotel on Wednesday night – by BML’s CEO, Managing Director Tim Sawyer.
There were a total of five award categories; employees who had worked for the bank for longer than 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, and 35 years.
The longest-serving employees recognized last night that received a special commendation were Zulfa Mohamed, Customer Service Manager, for having served the Bank for 35 years – and Shamsiyya Ibrahim, Head of Customer Processing, for having served the Bank for 30 years.
Speaking the ceremony – BML’s CEO, Managing Director Tim Sawyer thanked the employees for their dedication and commitment to the Bank.
“Tonight, we are proud to celebrate your dedication and commitment to the Bank. Thank you for touching the lives of our customers every day and working so hard with professionalism and commitment to excellence. It is indeed an honor to give due recognition and celebrate your role,” he had said.
As the largest bank in the country – as well as one of the largest employers, BML takes great pride over the fact that 99 percent of its staff base are Maldivians. The Bank holds regular events to honor its top-performing staff and to recognize their loyal service including Staff Awards and Long Service Awards.
