Maldives invites bids for 18 islands for resort development

Maldivian Tourism Ministry has invited interested parties to submit bids for development of 18 islands as tourist resorts.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Tourism Ministry said the invitation is open to both local and foreign investors.

The islands open for bids is:

HA. Medhafushi (10.90 hectors)

HDh. Kudafarufasgan’du (1.20 hectors)

Sh. Kudalhaimendhoo (14.70 hectors)

R. Eh’thigili (with 10 hectors from R. Alifushi lagoon) (10.90 + 10 hectors)

M. Seedheehuraa (1.28 hectors)

Seedheehuraa Veligandu ‘(with Seedheehuraa) (3 hectors)

M. Maausfushi (10.40 hectors)

F. En’bulufushi (1 hector)

F. Jinnathugau (0.89 hectors)

Th. Olhufushi (3 hectors)

Th. Kaaddoo (3.9 hectors)

Olhufushifinolhu (with Olhufushi) (0.54 hectors)

Tourism Ministry said that information sessions will be held virtually via ZOOM for interested parties. The sessions will be held at 10:00 am on November 4, 2021 and January 20, 2022.

Interested parties have been asked to send an email requesting to join the information session along with name, email address and phone number to [email protected] before noon on November 3, 2021 and January 19, 2022 respectively.

The application form to purchase the bid document is available from the Tourism Ministry’s website. The bid document will be available to purchase from Tourism Ministry’s reception from October 31, 2021 to February 24, 2022, 09:00 am-01:00 pm.

The Tourism Ministry is located on the 5th floor of Velaanage.
