Infant dies of milk aspiration in Bodufulhadhoo

A one-month infant has died due to milk aspiration in AA. Bodufulhadhoo. 

Bodufulhadhoo Council’s president Sujau Adam told Sun the incident took place just before noon last Tuesday. 

Sujau said that the infant’s mother fell asleep during breastfeeding, and found her child had vomited milk mixed with blood when she woke up. 

He said that the infant was immediately rushed to the island’s health center, which informed the family the child had already been deceased when brought in. 

The cause of death has been ruled as milk aspiration, said Sujau.
