Maldives National Party (MNP) - led by Dhangethi MP Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim – has applied for registration with Elections Commission (EC) after securing over 5,000 members.

MNP announced in a statement that they submitted their application after gathering members from across Maldives this Wednesday, on occasion of International Day of Democracy.

MNP said that the main objective of the party is to foster patriotism among the Maldivian people, and to use all powers, privileges and rights granted by law to do everything necessary to win the 2023 presidential elections in order to provide the people with what they want.

“MNP hopes to hold our inaugural meeting as soon as Elections Commission grants permission, and get included in the register of political parties. And to boost members to 10,000 before the end of the year 2021 and make this the strongest political movement in Maldives,” said MNP.

MNP has invited people who share the party’s views to join them.
