On the occasion of this year’s Independence Day, a live mural art event is set to take place in Male’.
An announcement made by National Center for the Arts (NCA) confirmed that a live mural art event will take place in Male’ on the occasion of this year’s Independence Day – to which they are seeking artists who are interested in taking part in the event.
NCA has directed interested artists to send an email to [email protected] prior to 13:00 on July 12, 2021, Monday.
Should any artist wish to inquire more information regarding the event, NCA has requested them to either call 3313465 or send an email to [email protected].
This event has been announced at a time where locals artists are presently engaged mural painting on the walls of the parking lot built at Maafannu Boduge – under the directions of Male’ City Council.
Mural art is known to add beauty to islands and cities. In 2019, a mural art event was held at Dh. Rinbudhoo where artists from Maldivian Artistic Community (MAC) painted on the walls of ‘Sagaafee magu’ situated at the island. The drawings were a representation of work carried out by the inhabitants of the island and the natural beauty of the Maldives.
Additional events set to take place this Independence Day includes an 18-hour tv show planned by the Home Ministry. The Ministry has also stated that no activities that will involve crowds are planned in light of the pandemic.
