The curfew imposed in B. Eydhafushi following a surge in COVID-19 cases has been lifted.
Eydhafushi, the capital of B. Atoll, was placed under monitoring following the identification of a COVID-19 case during active surveillance on April 19. The curfew was imposed following a surge in cases on May 10.
The curfew was lifted on June 24 following significant progress in controlling the outbreak.
Eydhafushi Council said that though the curfew has been lifted, the island remains under monitoring, and continues to be subject to monitoring-related restrictions.
Active cases in Eydhafushi, which once rose above 300, has now dropped to 24.
Now new cases have been detected in four days.
