The Maldives Police Services has begun a special operation to tow vehicles that have been left on the road for long durations, or without registry-number plates.
A police media official said that the operation was started today, and that it is being conducted with the participation of Malé City Council. He also said that the police would, in the operation, tow vehicles that have been left on the road for long durations, or without registry-number plates.
The official also said that if an owner of a towed vehicle wishes to get his or her vehicle back, he or she should follow the procedures to be set forth by the Malé City Council.
He said that the City Council would publish an announcement about towed vehicles, and that any vehicles unclaimed within the period would be destroyed in accordance with the laws of transportation.
