Police officer arrested with alcohol released from custody

The Criminal Court has ordered the release of a police officer arrested with alcohol from Male’ City on Friday.

A police spokesperson said the officer was presented before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing this Saturday, and that the court denied the request for his remand and ordered his release.

The spokesperson said the officer arrested in the case has been suspended.

The officer was arrested in an operation by the Drug Enforcement Department (DED). Details regarding the case have not been disclosed.
