Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 114 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 21,382.
According to HPA, the 124 new cases include; 86 cases from the greater Male’ region, 14 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 14 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 85 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 18,780.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,531 active cases.
There are 133 patients in hospitals.
3,462 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
64 COVID-19 positive patients have died from complications.
Maldives began mass vaccinations against COVID-19 on February 1. HPA states 1,506 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours, all of them from other atolls apart from the Greater Male' Area.
Total 188,436 people have now been inoculated under the program; 105,836 from the greater Male’ region, and 82,600 from the atolls.
