Monitoring mechanisms initiated on Dhevvadhoo again

The island of GA. Dhevvadhoo has once again been brought under monitoring mechanisms. 

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) said that the island was brought under monitoring mechanisms after an individual in home-quarantine on the island tested positive for COVID-19. HEOC said that the mechanisms were put in place for further assessments of the situation on the island.

Dhevvadhoo was the center of a local outbreak in the south which saw 95 positive cases detected. The island was placed under monitoring mechanisms for almost a month. 

In addition to Dhevvadhoo, the island of Baarah is also under monitoring mechanisms. 

Maldives has confirmed 19,979 cases COVID-19. While there are 181 patients hospitalized for the virus, active cases are currently numbered 2,567.
