Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 61

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Saturday that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized in the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as an 80-year-old Maldivian female.

She passed away at 00:22 am on Saturday.

“This is the 61st COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 19,479 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 133 new cases recorded on Friday. 17,002 patients have since recovered, and the country currently has 2,410 active cases.

162 of the patients are hospitalized.
