Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 133 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives to 19,479.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 117 cases from the greater Male’ region, four cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 12 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 164 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 17,002.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,410 active cases.
There are 162 patients in hospitals.
4,742 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
60 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
Maldives began mass vaccinations against the virus on February 1. HPA stated that 1,108 people were vaccinated today. All of those vaccinated today were from atolls other than the capital.
A total of 99,419 people have now been inoculated under program; 69,725 from the greater Male’ region, and 29,694 from the atolls.
