Monitoring mechanisms on Thinadhoo lifted

Monitoring mechanisms on the southern island of GDh. Thinadhoo in place due to detected COVID-19 cases have been lifted.

The island was placed under monitoring mechanisms on February 7. Four random samples collected from the island tested positive after direct contact of the Aviation cluster identified from Addu City tested positive in Thinadhoo. The individual had traveled to Thinadhoo from Addu City on February 3. 

More than 400 random samples were collected from the island with the largest population in the atoll. Vaccinations are also underway in Thinadhoo.

The two biggest cities in the south, Addu City and Fuvahmulah are still under monitoring mechanisms due to COVID-19 cases.
