A police officer has been arrested in connection to a forgery case.
The police officer, identified as a 35-year-old male, was presented before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Friday.
The court ordered for him to be detained for 10 days in a custodial jail, citing sufficient evidence, as well as the nature of the crime and the circumstances surrounding the crime.
The court also decided that given the suspect is a police officer, allowing his release poses risk for evidence tampering and could pose a threat to public safety.
The case is under further investigation by the police.
