The Parliament’s Sergeant-At-Arms Mohamed Haleeem has been suspended.
Communications Director of the Parliament Hassan Ziyau, stated to Sun, that Haleem was suspended due to a matter under investigation. Ziyau did not specify details of the matter but disclosed that Haleem was suspended indefinitely.
Haleem was appointed to the post of Sergeant-At-Arms of the Parliament on October 31, 2013. He has previously served in the military.
The post is tasked with upholding the order of the parliament and carrying out orders of the Speaker of the Parliament as well as upholding the regulations of the parliament.
