Met Office issues weather alert for central Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has issued a yellow weather alert from of K. Atoll to V. Atoll due to anticipated bad weather. 

The weather alert is set to last from 13:00 to 17:00.

Thunderstorms and showers maybe experienced in these areas with winds of up to 45 miles per hour, according to the Met Office. 

The Met Office also warned that other regions of the nation could also experience bad weather.

Travelers and sea goers in the central region of the nation are warned to take caution when traveling.
