Maduvvari MP Adam Shareef has submitted a letter to the parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed regarding the issue of the Asian Academy of Aeronautics operating in Addu City.

Complaints over the issue of the students being mistreated by the school have been rife in the Maldives. MP Adam Shareef requested in his letter to closely monitor the situation and resolve the issues faced by the students.

Transport Ministry and Higher Education Ministry have also warned the academy that it could be reprimanded over the alleged unfair dismissal of students without heeding to the notices issued by the state institutions.

MP Adam Shareef requested to make arrangements so that students could fulfill their education and have their rights ensured. He also requested to hold those responsible for the misconduct by the school accountable. The letter also noted that difficulties have been observed at school in completing the courses and the allegations of unfair dismissal of students.

While courses at the academy are extremely expensive, students are forced to spend extra due to delays in the course which overextends the course duration.

MP Adam Shareef also noted that hope for the students in fulfilling their education was slowly dying down.

Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has previously responded to the situation with the school. Nasheed requested students who made complaints over the mistreatment of them school to write a letter to the parliament to find relief.
