Indian navy ship arrives in Maldives for joint surveillance

Indian Coastguard ship “ICGS Sanklap” arrived in the Maldives for surveillance patrol on November 1, 2020.

Indian Coastguard ship “ICGS Sanklap” has arrived in the Maldives for surveillance patrol.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) stated that the ship arrived as part of the series of joint surface surveillance patrols with the Indian navy.

The ship will be conducting surveillance patrols in the exclusive economic zone of the Maldives starting from tomorrow onwards. The patrols will end on November 5. 

MNDF stated that this is the 71st such surveillance patrol by MNDF and the Indian navy. The patrols were commenced in 2009.
