A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, the German Research Center for Geosciences has said. The quake hit at 2029 GMT at a depth of about 10 kilometres (6 miles) southwest of Khulm town in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
