Former President Mohamed Nasheed, who was arrested in Gdh. Faresmathoda this morning following an order by Hulhumale’ Court, has been taken to Dhoonidhoo.
Hulhumale’ Court issued an order to the Police yesterday, to detain Nasheed in order to ensure his appearance in Court for tomorrow’s trial at 4:00pm, following Nasheed’s non-compliance with the previous Court order to attend Court.

“Person guilty of this offence shall be subjected to exile or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding Mrf 2,000.00.”
