Police have arrested eight people in connection with operations that saw more than 800 cans of beer seized.
Police said that the two operations by the Drug Intelligence Department and the Drug Enforcement Department led to the arrest of eight individuals with 800 cans of beer.
Intelligence received led to a search of pickup at the T-Jetty area on September 23. 816 cans of beer were seized from the raid while five locals and a Bangladeshi national were also arrested from the location.
The Bangladeshi national arrested is aged 24, while the five locals arrested are aged 18, 35, 36, and two individuals aged 20.
A second operation on September 22, due to reports received of driving under the influence saw the arrest of a 40-year old local male. The man was driving a car while under the influence, and police seized 18 cans of beer from the car upon a search.
A separate operation on September 21 also saw police seize beer cans during a raid.
