Maldives records 30th COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Wednesday that a patient hospitalized in the COVID-19 medical facility in suburban Hulhumale’ has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as a 60-year-old Maldivian man.

He was being treated at the intensive care unit, and passed away at 06:24 pm this Wednesday.

It marks Maldives’ 30th COVID-19 related fatality.

Maldives has 8,741 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 74 new cases recorded on Tuesday. 6,157 patients have since recorded.

The country currently has 2,549 active cases. 139 coronavirus patients are hospitalized.
