COVID-19: 10 cases reported from six islands

R. Dhuvaafaru.

A total of ten COVID-19 cases have been reported from six different islands.

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) said that the individuals that tested positive from tests conducted to release them from quarantine. 

Positive individuals were identified from:

  • R Dhuvaafaru: Two individuals
  • R. Kinolhas: One individual (A Filipino national)
  • K. Himmafushi: Two individuals
  • Th. Omadhoo: Three individuals
  • L. Gan: One individual
  • Addu City: One individual

One of the positive cases from Dhuvaafaru is a three-year-old child while one of the positive cases in Omadhoo is a two-year-old. 

HPA had announced recently that 21 locations across the nation had active COVID-19 cases. They include 10 resorts. 

The number of COVID-19 cases reported as of recently has been very much on the rise. Last night, 119 cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 6,779. Active cases are numbered at 2,531.
