Work begins on developing the inner roads of Fuvahmulah City

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced work on a project to design and build the inner roads of Fuvahmulah City.

MTCC announced the company has transferred the excavators, cable junctions and other equipment needed for the project, and commenced construction work this Tuesday.

The project will see the development of 31 roads with an overall length of 15,932 meters.

The project involves the construction of a 122,659 square meter sub-base, 95,239 square meters of asphalt, construction of pavements, installation of light fixtures, and a water drainage system.

The MVR 279.4 million project was awarded to MTCC on July 4, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed in approximately two years.
