2 arrested following violence in Maafushi

Maldives Police Service has announced that two people have been arrested in connection to violence between two groups in K. Maafushi.

A police spokesperson said the violence took place on Monday night, and left four injured – two of whom sustained stab wounds.

Two people have been taken into custody in connection to the case, said the police spokesperson.

The case is under further investigation by the police.

Videos of the incident shared over the social media show the violence had erupted following a verbal dispute between two groups of people.
