Met Office warns of expected bad weather for all regions

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has forecast that a large portion of the country could experience heavy rains and strong winds today.

The country is experiencing a period of rainy weather in general. Some islands have even faced storm surges and even flooding due to the severe weather.

Met Office stated that the seas are expected to be moderately rough for all areas of the country with strong winds and heavy rains expected. Seas are expected to get choppier during gusts.

Southern atolls could experience winds of 15-25 miles per hour from the North West. During gusts, winds are expected to increase to 55 miles per hour.

During high tide, some islands of the country may even experience storm surges, warned the Met Office which requested everyone to remain alert to the weather.
