Eight more individuals recover from COVID-19

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has announced that eight individuals have recovered from the COVID-19 virus.

The total number of recoveries for the virus currently stands at 40.

Recoveries have now been confirmed by the authorities on three consecutive days now.

Health professionals in the country have warned that the country could reach its peak of the virus within the next two weeks.

The projected total for the country currently stands at around 77,000. So far the country has recorded just three deaths.

The majority of the cases have been identified in the capital Male' City where the first case was confirmed on April 15.

Positive cases have also been identified in several islands in the northern region of the country. In order to stop the spread, authorities have implemented travel restrictions across the nation as well.
