Three Bangladeshi departees test positive for COVID-19

Three individuals that departed from the Maldives to Bangladeshi has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a press conference tonight, National Emergency operations Center spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez said that the three tested positive for COVID-19 after departing from the Maldives. They will be quarantined in Bangladesh.

The Maldives confirmed 14 new cases today. They also include three Bangladeshi nationals. The total figure of confirmed cases for the country is now 2,217.

A total of 10 individuals also recovered tonight. This means that the number of active cases in the country currently stands at 391. The total number of recoveries in the country currently stands at 1,813.

Authorities have so far collected 42,830 samples for the virus along with repeat samples. The Maldives has so far confirmed eight deaths for the virus. They include four locals and four Bangladeshi nationals.
