National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has stated that it is searching for three migrants in the country who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Many that are tested for the virus are released back into the community until their test results are received, due to the country being in a state of lockdown.

Speaking in a press conference tonight, NEOC spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez stated that authorities collect information such as addresses and names of individuals whose samples are collected.

“We are searching for seven individuals who tested positive from samples collected in such a manner. HPA informed the Police after failing to contact them.” Says Mabrouq.

Four of these individuals were living in containment sites while three others were living in different addresses. Police have so far found four of these individuals while the search is still underway for the remaining three.

If Police are unable to find these individuals, under the powers granted to the Director-General of Public Health, personal information of these individuals will be released to a certain level to assist the efforts of finding these individuals.
