COVID-19: 51 cases confirmed, total at 955

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC has announced that 51 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Maldives so far today. 

The new positive cases have brought the total tally for the entire country to 955.

NEOC also announced tonight that it is searching for three migrants in the country who have tested positive for COVID-19. Four of these individuals were living in containment sites while three others were living in different addresses. Police have so far found four of these individuals while the search is still underway for the remaining three.

The total number of recoveries for the virus currently stands at 40.

Health professionals in the country have warned that the country could reach its peak of the virus within the next two weeks. The projected total for the country currently stands at around 77,000. So far the country has recorded just three deaths.

The majority of the cases have been identified in the capital Male' City where the first case was confirmed on April 15.
